Kenwood Blender Reviews
My favourite home appliance is the Kenwood blender. It is a mid-range model and has numerous functions and attachments. It has a mock stainless stain finish to the main body of the machine and a twist locking basin with lid. The lid of the basin has a spout and a push plunger to feed solid and liquid items onto the slicing and grating blades or the main blender. It has three power modes, two continuous and one pulse setting.
The function that receives the most use to date is the main blender. This features a razor sharp blade that so far has powered through everything that has been thrown at it. The other cutting discs are a selection of slicing and grating blades, featuring coarse and fine variations.
There is a liquidiser jug which fits onto the main body of the machine and holds up to 1.5 litres of fluid. This can handle quite high temperatures and so is good for finishing off soups and chowders. The main body also supports another attachment for blending smaller quantities of food (this looks like a tiny version of the main basin) and makes it excellent for making flavour bases for sauces and finely chopping herbs.
There are a couple of negative points to the appliance. The cake mixing attachment has warped at the whisks and then broke. This has proved to be the only major issue on this model and I feel that metal whisks instead of the plastic would have been a better choice. The other fault is that if a thicker product is left to blend for too long in the main basin the food can feed back up the blade tube and come out of the basin – this leads to a difficult clean up task.
Overall the product has performed very well and apart from the whisk attachment breaking, everything else has been excellent.
