Hairdryers Buyers Guide
Hair Dryers are a crucial product for anyone with more than a few centimetres of hair. Did you know how they originated?
At the beginning of the century, women actually attached a hose to their vacuum cleaners, in order to dry their hair. The very first hair dryer to emerge was powered by diesel fuel, and was enormous; this was back in the 1920’s.
It wasn’t until the 1950’s that we actually saw a real working hair dryer. I have to say it wasn’t anything like the hair dryers we see today, but it did the job! The hair dryer was constructed of a bonnet type hat, with a hose attached. This would be placed onto the women’s head. The hair dryer came with a warning, stating that the company advises you ‘to actually avoid use of a hair dryer, and if you should use one then it must be at least 6 inches from the hair’. Not much confidence there then!
The average life span of a hairdryer is 200 – 300 hours, and it is actually illegal to fall asleep under a hair dryer in Florida!
It is recommended that you dry your hair pointing the air down the shaft of the hair, this apparently, smoothes the cuticles of your hair and gives it a more health shine
Ionic hairdryers use negative ions to split apart the water meaning your hair dries twice as fast.
There is a machine called the Louse Buster that looks exactly like a hair dryer, difference being this machine is to kill lice, not to style their hair!
Did you know that if the coil is burnt out on your hairdryer, then it can actually explode and set its self alight? Remember this point and always unplug your hairdryer after you have finished.
And believe it or not, there is actually a medical condition that some women suffer from, which causes them to orgasm just from the vibrations of their hair dryer? As to the extent of the ‘suffering’ I am not to sure, but ladies you have been warned!
